The series begins Thursday at 6 p.m. Friday will be the 9/7-inning doubleheader starting at noon followed by the season finale Saturday at 11 a.m. Be sure to arrive at 'The Nett' early for the senior day ceremony, beginning at around 10:30 a.m.

It has been a frustrating season for head coach Dave Taylor and Wildcats. Between the defensive woes and the unprecedented 12-game conference freefall, Chico State couldn't recover from the two and keep itself in the fight for a spot to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships. The 'Cats head into the finale 18-23 overall and 12-19 in conference place, which has them 10
th in the standings. Chico State can finish as high as seventh place should it sweep Los Angeles and get other conference results to favor its way.
Several Chico State players will also use the final four games of the season to solidify resumés for postseason accolades such as All-CCAA. Second baseman Jeffrey Ray currently ranks eighth in the conference in batting average, hitting .373. He also sits fifth in on-base percentage with a .491. Justin Tamelier's 3.38 earned run average ranks eighth in the conference.
Cal State LA comes to Chico 17-28 overall and 12-24 in the CCAA, which puts the Golden Eagles in the cellar of the conference. While closing Reeder Field for the year, the Golden Eagles played spoilers in their home finale by splitting the series with first-place Cal State Monterey Bay, which prevented the Otters from successfully defending the conference title.
