’Cats descend on Turlock Friday and Saturday for Kim Duyst Invite

Chico State women’s track & field team sending 28 athletes to compete in first full meet of the 2023 season

Last week's Chico Multi-Event Classic provided a tantalizing first taste for Chico State women's track & field fans. This weekend, a huge portion of the 2023 roster makes its season debut at the Stanislaus State-hosted Kim Duyst Invitational. First year head coach Veronica Graves will take 28 athletes down to Turlock to compete in a variety of events at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.
 
Fans can keep up with the results online, with the leader board link available on the Wildcat Athletics website and on the women's track & field schedule page.
 
Six of the 28 Wildcats will be making their first Chico State track & field appearance.
 
The Wildcat throwers get things underway Friday, with a full complement of events scheduled for Saturday. Ava Cavallaro and Citlalli Fernardez will lead things off Friday morning competing in the hammer throw, followed by the discus and the shot put.
 
Saturday the 'Cats will compete throughout the afternoon in 12 different events. The Chico State women's track & field team will conclude the Kim Duyst Invitational Saturday at 6:15 p.m. by taking part in the 4x400-meter relay.
