NEW ORLEANS—The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Wednesday announced the All-Region honorees for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season, and as in past years, the Chico State men's and women's track & field teams were well represented, with 11 athletes combining to receive 13 All-West Region accolades.
 
All 11 Wildcat track & field athletes received the first USTFCCCA All-West Region honor of their Chico State careers.
 
The men's team featured six athletes—Cristian Brady (pole vault), Jack Emanuel (5,000- and 10,000-meter run), Brayden McLaughlin (10,000-meter run), Matthew Rodriguez (pole vault), Conor Wells (800- and 1,500-meter runs), and Parker Williams (110-meter hurdles) receiving USTFCCCA All-West Region honors in eight events.
 
From the women's team, five Wildcats—Amy Bell (pole vault), Marissa D'Atri (3,000-meter steeplechase), Hannah Ryan (10,000-meter run), Chloe Taylor (400-meter hurdles), and Nadia Torkman (high jump) earned All-West Region honors from the organization representing thousands of cross country and track & field coaches throughout the nation.
 
For Brady and D'Atri, Wednesday's All-Region award represents the latest in a series of major honors. D'Atri won the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) championship in both the steeplechase and 5,000-meter run before earning First Team All-America honors in the steeple last month at the NCAA Track & Field Championships. Brady brought home All-CCAA accolades prior to his First Team All-America vault in Allendale, Michigan.
 
Wells was the CCAA champion in the 800- and 1,500-meter runs and competed at the NCAA Championships, with Emanuel taking top conference honors in the 5,000-meter run. Torkman finished first in the CCAA high jump competition, with Taylor establishing herself as the conference's best in the 400-meter hurdles. McLaughlin, Williams, and Ryan each scored All-CCAA honors in early May, with McLaughlin going on to take part in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Championships.
 
Top-five individuals in each event from each of the eight USTFCCCA regions nationwide earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team.
 
A total of 1,890 honors were presented to USTFCCCA member institutions for the 2022 track & field season, including 954 awarded to women's programs and 936 to women's programs.
