CHICO, Calif. - Three members of the Chico State men's track & field/cross country program have been named to the 2025–26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, recognizing their combined success in competition and in the classroom.
Trey Suffredini, Travis Allen and Damian Garcia earned Academic All-District honors, while Suffredini and Garcia were selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and will advance to the national ballot.
Suffredini, a sprinter and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences major, capped a standout season as part of Chico State's 4x400-meter relay team that earned second-team All-America honors at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He also helped the Wildcats win the CCAA team championship and finished second in the 400 meters at the conference meet to earn All-CCAA honors.
Allen, a graduate student in political science, represented Chico State's throws and jumps group on the Academic All-District list.
Garcia, a distance standout majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in accounting and finance, added the academic honor to one of the finest competitive seasons in program history. He earned first-team All-America honors in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Championships, broke Chico State records in both the 800 meters and 1,500 meters, and swept the 800 and 1,500 conference titles at the CCAA Championships. Garcia also helped lead the Wildcats' cross country team to CCAA and NCAA West Region championships during the fall, winning the individual West Region title.
The Academic All-District teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
Suffredini and Garcia will now move forward on the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees are scheduled to be announced July 14.
