Blaylock and Kinney conclude Chico State careers

BROOKS—The end of the road was bumpy, but the trip was unforgettable. The Chico State women's golf team shot 39-over par and finished sixth at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships at Yocha Dehe Golf Club in Brooks, wrapping up its season. It was the final tournament representing Chico State for Kelsey Blaylock and Natalie Kinney.

The five student-athletes, their families, and Head Coach Heather Fegley huddled near the 18th green at the end of the round. They presented Blaylock and Kinney with flowers, hugged, and exhaled at the end of the journey.

Sophomore Taylor Stewart and Kinney each carded 9-over par 81s to lead the team Wednesday on the par-72, 5,937-yard course in Capay Valley near Brooks, Blaylock was 10-over par, Hernandez 11-over, and More +22.  Stewart tied for 15thin the field, followed by Kinney (tied for 19th), Blaylock (28th), Hernandez (29th), and More (30th).

The Wildcats finished the tournament in sixth place at 119 over par.
