Wins, records, and PRs galore highlight Wildcat Invitational

Savannah Bailey posts sixth fastest 400-meter dash time in program history, Nadia Torkman eighth all-time in the high jump

With wet weather in the forecast, Chico State women's track & field head coach John Brunk told his charges to be ready to compete in the rain Saturday at the Wildcat Invitational. It turned out Mother Nature kept things dry until the meet was over, allowing the athletes to concentrate solely on their performances. The result—14 event wins, over 40 personal or season-best marks, and two efforts that rearranged the Chico State all-time Top 10 list in the high jump and 400-meter dash—made for an extremely productive day at University Stadium.

Savannah Bailey scored a personal best mark of 56.82 seconds in winning the Wildcat Invitational's 400-meter dash, while also posting the sixth-fastest time in the event in Chico State history. Nadia Torkman was a winner in the high jump, clearing the bar with a PR height of 1.66 meters, putting her in a tie for eighth place on the Wildcats' all-time Top 10 list in the event.
