Neither team could gauge the blustering winds quite right and both goalkeepers came up with big saves as the Chico State and Stanislaus State women's soccer teams played to a 0-0 draw Sunday at University Soccer Stadium. The wind blew from the south goal toward the north, causing shots that looked good to fly on over on the north side, and knocking down those taken in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, Stanislaus State's Amanda Leal logged seven saves while Chico State's Emma Hofmann had six.

There was a winner Sunday, however—Chico State's food insecure students. Sunday was Pack the Pantry Day at University Soccer Stadium, and thanks to the Wildcats' amazing parents and fans, the University's Hungry Wildcat Food Pantry received a huge influx of food and monetary donations.

Chico State is now 7-2-3 overall and 3-1-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Stanislaus State is 5-4-3 overall and 2-1-3 in the CCAA.

Chico State's Camille Lidster led all players with seven shots, three of which were on goal. Natalie Mendoza took four shots and Brynn Howard and Susanna Garcia three apiece. Kendel Gisin led Stanislaus State with three shots.

The Wildcats will be back home next weekend to face San Francisco State Friday at 4:30 and Sonoma State Sunday at 11:30. Sunday's match will be Senior Day, so plan to arrive early and celebrate the collegiate careers of the team's tremendous senior class.
