STOCKTON, Calif. – The Chico State baseball team has done a lot of great things this season. But the Wildcats have not yet had a chance to dogpile. They hope that changes at the conclusion of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton. That also happens to be the scene of the team's last dogpile.
The Wildcats, seeded No. 1 in the six-team tournament, will get started Wednesday at 11 a.m. vs. No. 6 seed Cal State L.A. The winner of that game will face the loser of Wednesday's final game between No. 4 seed Stanislaus State and No. 3 seed UC San Diego Thursday at 3 p.m. The loser will play in an elimination game against either Cal State Monterey Bay or Cal Poly Pomona Thursday morning at 11.
After compiling the best conference winning percentage in the history of the CCAA during the regular season at 34-4, Chico State enters the tournament 41-8 overall and ranked No. 6 in the nation.
The Wildcats swept a three-game series at home against Cal State L.A. on April 14-15, winning by scores of 11–8, 7–1, and 8–1.
Cal State L.A. is 25-23 overall and finished third in the CCAA's South Division at 18-20.
Every Chico State postseason game will be broadcast locally on AM-1290 KPAY. Links to the online stream, video stream, and live stats are available at
