The push for the postseason is at hand for the Chico State baseball team. With three consecutive series against teams ahead of them in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings on the horizon, the Wildcats are hoping to make up some ground.
That quest begins with a four-game set at third-place Cal Poly Pomona this weekend. The Broncos host the Wildcats for a single game Friday at 3 p.m., a doubleheader Saturday at 11 a.m. and a single game Sunday at 11 a.m.
The final three games will be broadcast locally on AM-1290 KPAY with Mike Baca on the call. All four will be streamed online via the Wildcat Webcast button at ChicoWildcats.com, where links to livestats can also be accessed.
Chico State is 9-9 overall and 8-7 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona, ranked No. 11 in the nation, is 16-6 overall and 8-4 in the CCAA.
A four-game home series against first-place Cal State Monterey Bay follows March 27-29 and the Wildcats will be on the road against fourth-place Cal State L.A. April 2-4.
The Wildcats are coming off a series against Cal State San Bernardino in which they won three out of four. They're hoping that momentum carries over.
