’Cats finally get four at home

Baseball team hosts Cal State San Bernardino this weekend

The Chico State baseball team is finally home for a complete four-game series this weekend. The Wildcats, the last California Collegiate Athletic Association team to get four straight at home, host Cal State San Bernardino beginning with a single game Friday at 6 p.m.

Chico State, 6-8 overall and 5-6 in the CCAA, has played 11 of its first 14 games away from Nettleton Stadium. The Wildcats hope to use "The Nett" this weekend to springboard the team right back into the hunt for a postseason berth and conference championship.

Saturday's doubleheader begins at noon and the series concludes with a single game Sunday at 11.

At least three of the four games will be broadcast locally on AM-1290 KPAY with Mitch Cox on the call. Saturday's second game will not be broadcast if the Chico State men's basketball team advances to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. All four games will be streamed live via the Wildcat Webcast link at chicowildcat.com. Links to streaming audio, video and live stats are also available in the calendar section of the home and baseball pages and on the baseball schedule page.

Despite their road-heavy schedule and rough start to the season, the Wildcats are only one game behind three teams tied for fourth in the loss column.

Cal State San Bernardino is 4-17 overall and 2-10 in the CCAA.
