Final home weekend rescheduled due to rain

Sixth-ranked Wildcats host Saturday and Sunday doubleheaders against 11th-ranked Cal Poly Pomona

One win away from the playoffs. One win from Head Coach Dave Taylor's 300th. One day to celebrate a dozen dynamic seniors. One final fantastic weekend to catch some Chico State baseball at Nettleton Stadium. We'll have to wait one more day until it starts. Rain has caused this weekend's four-game series against Cal Poly Pomona to be rescheduled. The teams will now play a doubleheader Saturday at noon and another Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Wildcats are 33-8 and ranked No. 6 in the nation. The 11th-ranked Broncos are 29-11. The program's 12 seniors - Eric Angerer, Nick Baker, Jake Bailey, Ryne Clark, Kenny Corona, Ronnie Galosic, Ruben Padilla, Jesse Silva, Drew Freeman, Matt Hutchins, Marcos Lara and Ryan McClellan - will be celbrated prior to Sunday's games, beginning at 10:35.

The Wildcats lead the California Collegiate Athletic Association standings at 25-7 and need just one more win or Cal State East Bay loss to cement a CCAA Championship Tournament berth and their 18th postseason appearance in the past 19 years.

They're percentage points clear of Sonoma State (18-6), which they'll finish the season against May 2-4. UC San Diego is in third place at 23-9, Cal Poly Pomona fourth at 22-10 and Cal State East Bay is the only other team alive for a playoff berth at 17-15.
