CHICO – With a solid day of rain in the forecast for Friday, the scheduled softball doubleheader between Chico State and Cal State Dominguez Hills that was to kick off a four game series has been postponed. The Wildcats – set to play their first home games of the 2010 season – will now take on the visiting Toros in doubleheader action this Saturday beginning at 12 noon and Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m. at University Softball Field.
Showers are also in the forecast Saturday morning, but skies are expected to clear by early afternoon. Sunday’s forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies, but no threat of rain. Chico State officials are hopeful that all four games can be played before the end of the weekend.
The Wildcats enter the weekend 5-5 on the season and 3-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), while Cal State Dominguez Hills is 9-5 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
