ARCATA – A double double-double is probably too much to handle at In-And-Out, and it was definitely too much for the Humboldt State volleyball team to handle Friday night in Lumberjack Arena. Double-double efforts from Gillian Heydorff (19 kills and 17 digs) and Makenzie Snyder (18 kills and 16 digs) lifted Chico State to a 23-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-10 win at Humboldt State.

Gigi Turlouw’s career-high 26 digs were also a key for the Wildcats, who improved to 13-4 overall and 4-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

Humboldt State dipped to 7-10 overall and 2-5 in the CCAA.

Heydorff and Snyder led the Wildcats’ service efforts with four aces apiece, while Heydorff sent down a pair of blocks. Sable Vallescusa dished out 38 assists and tallied nine digs.

The Wildcats will take on Sonoma State Saturday night at 7 in an important showdown featuring two of the region’s top teams.
