CHICO, Calif. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its 2025–26 Academic All-District honorees for women's volleyball on Tuesday, and four Chico State student-athletes earned recognition: Claire Nordeen, Cashe Olswang, Maria Wahl, and Gwyneth Wentzel.
The CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-America programs honor the nation's top student-athletes for excellence both on the court and in the classroom. To qualify, nominees must be at least a sophomore, hold a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), and compete in at least 90 percent of their team's matches.

A Mechanical Engineering sophomore in Chico State's Honors GE program, Nordeen emerged as one of the CCAA's top setters in 2025. Olswang, a senior graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice, capped her Wildcat career by appearing in 24 of 25 matches and earning 18 starts on the right side. She played in 70 sets and ranked third on the team with 156 kills.
Wahl, a Structural Engineering major who completed her junior season, earned All-CCAA Honorable Mention after playing in all 25 matches and every set. She provided consistent production on both sides of the net, leading Chico State with 313.0 points, fueled by 280 kills and 30 total blocks.
Wentzel, a senior graduating with a degree in Media Arts, Music, and Technology, also garnered All-CCAA Honorable Mention. She started all but one match and appeared in 91 sets. Wentzel ranked third in the CCAA in hitting percentage (.332) during conference play while leading the Wildcats' front line with 38 total blocks, including 12 solo stuffs.
