ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Four Chico State volleyball players earned recognition as the CCAA announced its 2025 all-conference teams Tuesday. Claire Nordeen headlines the Wildcats as second-team All-CCAA while Gwyneth Wentzel, Maria Wahl, and Jessie Camarillo each received honorable mention.
Nordeen, who received All-CCAA honorable mention as a freshman last year, continued to impress as one of the conference's top setters her sophomore season, finishing third in total assists with 795 and averaging 8.55 assists per set—the second consecutive year she ranked third in that category. A two-time CCAA Setter of the Week honoree (Sept. 8–14 and Nov. 10–16), Nordeen also recorded one of just four triple-doubles in conference play this season, with 12 kills, 13 digs, and 28 assists at UC Merced on Sept. 27.
Wentzel, a senior, was a steady presence in the middle. She ranked third in the CCAA in hitting percentage (.332), providing efficient offense throughout the season.
Camarillo, a senior, capped off her four-year Wildcat career by becoming the 10th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career digs. She finished the season with 401 digs (4.31 per set), ranking second in the conference. The veteran libero also earned her first CCAA Defensive Player of the Week honor for Oct. 27–Nov. 2.
Wahl, a junior, contributed consistently on both sides of the net, helping the Wildcats achieve their most overall and conference wins since 2019 and their highest CCAA finish (7th) since 2013.
Under interim head coach Ricci Luyties, Chico State finished the 2025 campaign with a 12–13 overall record and an 8–10 mark in CCAA play.
