Brooke Larsen has been making magic in the pitcher’s circle for the Chico State softball team since joining the program in 2019. Two-and-a-half remarkable seasons later, the talented righthander closed out her Wildcats career on a high note, receiving several well-deserved postseason awards while delivering three dynamite pitching performances at the NCAA West Regional. As if all that didn’t make for a memorable week, Larsen is the recipient of one more award—Wildcat of the Week.
Â
As the team prepared for the NCAA West Regional in Southern California, Larsen received word Wednesday that she had earned First Team All-West Region honors from both the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA). Before the Wildcats took the field Thursday, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selected Larsen as part of the organization’s Academic All-District Team.

In the circle, Larsen was nothing short of superb leading Chico State to the semifinals of the NCAA West Regional. The Sacramento product twirled three complete games in two days, allowing just two earned runs and striking out 25 in 21 innings of work. The highlight of Larsen’s week was a dominant two-hit shutout Friday against Azusa Pacific.
Â
Larsen concludes her Chico State career as one of the greatest pitchers in Wildcat softball history. She is the program’s all-time earned run average leader (1.49), and ranks thirds in career wins (48), shutouts (23), and strikeouts (480).
