One month into the 2023 season, Alexis Hinojosa has served as a model of consistency for the Chico State women’s track & field team. The Lincoln product has not only posted a new personal best in her primary event, the 100-meter hurdles, but she has also  produced solid results competing for the first time as a Wildcat in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and the long jump. Hinojosa’s latest achievement—an impressive second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the Mark Conover Classic in San Luis Obispo—makes her the latest Wildcat of the Week.

Hinojosa crossed the finish line at Cal Poly’s Miller and Capriotti Athletics Complex with a time of 15.04 seconds, continuing a string of consistent performances that has seen her five 100-meter hurdle times this season all fall within a half-second of each other.

Hinojosa kicked off the 2023 campaign with a bang, notching a personal best 100-meter hurdle time of 14.82 seconds March 4 at the Kim Duyst Invitational in Turlock. She has also displayed her notable versatility by placing second in the long jump (4.92 meters) at the March 11 Wildcat Invitational, and registering a top 10 showing in the 100-meter dash (13.21 seconds) March 18 at the Wildcat CUP Invitational.

Hinojosa will be back in action this weekend in the Bay Area, competing Saturday in the 100-meter hurdles at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco.
