Chico State catcher Jarret Lindsay is the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s leading hitter through the first two weeks of the season, and our Wildcat of the Week. Lindsay is batting a blistering .571 (8-for-14) with eight runs driven in. He’s collected three doubles, drawn three walks, and been hit by a pitch. His slugging .785 and reaching base at a .632 clip.

The graduate transfer from Point Loma—where he started 61 games over the course of three seasons and earned two All-PacWest Academic awards—has started five of seven games behind the plate for the Wildcats. Lindsay has helped guide the Chico State pitching staff to a 2.65 earned run average while limiting opponents to just two stolen bases in three tries.

He notched his third multi-hit game of the season in Friday’s series opener at Fresno Pacific, going 3-for-4 with a double, run, and run batted in. Lindsay is currently pursuing his master’s degree in business. He and the Wildcats, which are off to a 5-2 start, host Simpson University for a doubleheader Wednesday at noon at Nettleton Stadium.
