Kevin Warren was nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors for the fourth year in a row Monday. Hopefully the fourth time is a charm for the senior guard on Chico State's basketball team. One anonymous Sports Information Director believes the reason the 2019–20 CCAA Championship Scholar has not yet been honored is because his name ends in W.

That same SID would also like to point out that you can't spell win without a W. And the Wildcats have been doing a lot of winning since Warren's arrival on campus. Over the past two seasons, Warren and the Wildcats have won 36 of 45 games. Two of those wins came last week on the road against rivals Cal Poly Humboldt and Sonoma State. The Wildcat of the Week led the way, bouncing back from his worst offensive performance as a Wildcat with two tremendous efforts.

The product of Oakland buried his first five shots and finished with 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal, and zero turnovers in a 66-58 win at Humboldt. In Saturday's 77-68 win at Sonoma State, Warren wowed once again with 14 points three rebounds, two blocks, a steal, and zero turnovers. He finished the week with averages of 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, no turnovers, and a steal, having made 12-for-20 field goal attempts, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Warren and the Wildcats, 13-2 overall and 9-2 in the CCAA, host Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino this Thursday and Saturday at Acker Gym. Both games are scheduled to tip off at 7:30 PM.
