Chico State forward Terence Pellum made quite a first impression on the California Collegiate Athletic Association over the weekend by leading the Wildcats to wins on the road at San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay. Pellum, who has earned Wildcat of the Week honors, averaged 18.5 points on 69-percent shooting and 5.5 rebounds per game while also contributing three blocked shots and three steals.
Friday against San Francisco State, Pellum finished with 13 points, six rebounds, two blocked shots, and two assists in 28 minutes as the Wildcats rolled to a 66-51 win.
Saturday, in his homecoming (Pellum graduated from Monterey High School), Pellum was dominant in the post, scoring 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting while added three steals and five rebounds as the Wildcats rallied from a 17-point halftime deficit to win 74-73.
Pellum, a transfer from Foothill Community College, currently leads the Wildcats in scoring (15.3 ppg), steals (1.0), blocks (1.0), and field-goal percentage (.625). He ranks fourth in the CCAA in scoring and field-goal percentage and seventh in blocks.
