Chico State golfer Jordan Oliver got off to a great start to the Spring season last week at the Cal State San Marcos Fujikura Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Shadowridge Country Club in Vista, finishing in a tie for sixth place and helping lead the 8th-ranked Wildcats to a second-place finish.

The senior from Huntington Beach shot 3-under par over his final nine holes of the tournament to finish his second round at 1-under par and even par for the tournament, earning Wildcat of the Week honors.
Oliver near led the Wildcats to victory with his strong finish. After netting a birdie at the 153-yard, par-3 12th, Oliver (who started the round at No. 3) rolled home six pars in a row before a strong birdie-birdie finish. The first came at the 545-yard, par-5 first hole. The second came at the 391-yard, par-4 second.
Oliver is currently ranked No. 15 in the Golfstat NCAA Division II player rankings and boasts an adjusted scoring average of 71.72.Â
An All-CCAA selection as a junior, Oliver has three top-10 and four top-20 finishes in his first four events of the campaign.
He and the Wildcats are off until March 4-5 when they travel to Santee for the UCSD SoCal Invitational at Carlton Oaks Golf Club.
