Bekah Boyle began the 2017 season winning the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Volleyball Player of the Week award. Six weeks and 17 matches later, the sophomore hitter's play continues to impress fans, teammates and conference coaches alike. Boyle was once again the top offensive weapon last week as the 'Cats notched three straight wins to climb back over the .500 mark, and her trio of outstanding performances have earned the Redding product the Wildcat of the Week award.  Â

Boyle racked up a combined 31 kills in victories over San Francisco State, Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay. She averaged 2.82 kills and 2.86 points per set while posting a .267 attack percentage.

Boyle posted three kills in the Wildcats' Tuesday sweep of San Francisco State, then followed up with a pair of double-digit performances over the weekend. She hammered home 11 kills in a three-set victory Friday over Cal State East Bay, and a team-high 17 kills as Chico State rallied from two sets down Saturday to defeat Cal State Monterey Bay.

Boyle leads the Wildcats in kills (213), kills per set (2.88) and points per set (3.07), and is among the CCAA leaders in all three statistical categories.

The Chico State volleyball team will try to keep its winning streak alive Thursday when Stanislaus State visits Acker Gym. The Wildcats will finish the week Saturday with a trip to Arcata to take on Humboldt State.
