The more things change, the more they stay the same. Over 40 percent of the Chico State volleyball team's roster has changed from a year ago, but Olivia Mediano—as she has since 2015—continues on as the Wildcats' top point producer. The Palm Springs product not only led the 'Cats offensively during the D2 West Region Showcase in Anchorage, Alaska, she achieved an impressive career milestone, making her the latest Wildcat of the Week.

Mediano hammered home 41 kills over the four D2 West Region Showcase matches at the Alaska Airlines Center, averaging 2.93 kills per contest. She also contributed 50 digs, four blocks and two service aces to the 'Cats' attack.

Mediano registered a season-high 14 kills Thursday against Alaska Anchorage, then led the Wildcats with 13 winners in Friday's four-set victory over Concordia-Irvine. Saturday against Western Washington, she recorded her 1,000th career kill, making her just the ninth player in Chico State volleyball history to accomplish that feat.

Mediano and the Wildcats play three home matches this week. Chico State hosts Simpson Tuesday night, followed by conference matchups against Cal State LA Friday and Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday.  Â
