Jo Paine has proven herself to be a consistent point scorer at every stop in her basketball career. Whether it's high school, junior college or at the Division I level, the junior forward has successfully stuffed the staff sheet with amazing consistency. Paine's now racking up big numbers at Chico State, and she's in the midst of a red-hot December. Her second straight double-double Friday night against Humboldt State not only continued her point-producing trend, but made Paine the latest Wildcat of the Week.
Â
Paine led the Wildcats with 15 points against the Lumberjacks, connecting on six of 12 shots from the field. She also pulled down 11 rebounds in 32 minutes of action, but it wasn't quite enough to keep the 'Cats from falling to Humboldt 44-42 at Acker Gym.
Â
Besides the back-to-back double-doubles Paine has posted this month, she is averaging 17.3 points in the month of December, along with 9.8 rebounds in her last four contests.
Â
Paine is currently second on the Wildcats in scoring, averaging 10.6 points a game on the season. She's Chico State's top rebounder, averaging 7.1 boards a contest.
Â
Paine and the Wildcats are back in action Saturday, hosting the Sonoma State Seawolves before breaking for the holidays.
