For the past two seasons, Chico State women's golfer Bianca Armanini has been flirting with winning a tournament title. A second place finish at the 2015 InterWest Wildcat Invitational and a fourth place showing in October at the Sonoma State Fall Invitational showed she had the talent to top the individual leaderboard. It all came together at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational, as Armanini carded a 6-over par 150 to notch a three-shot victory and lead the Wildcats to their first tournament win of the season. Armanini's ultimate achievement on the links makes her the latest Wildcat of the Week.Â

The senior turned in two outstanding rounds at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park, shooting an opening round 73 to earn a share of the tournament lead, followed by a 5-over 77 on the final 18 to finish atop of the 56-player field.
Â
While posting her fifth career top 10 tournament finish, Armanini became the fifth player in the program's history to win a tournament and the first since Denise Canadas took top honors at the Grand Canyon Invitational March 26-27, 2007.
Â
Armanini is averaging a career-best 78.1 strokes per round this season and has racked up three top 10 finishes in 2015-16.

Armanini and the Wildcats, still hopeful of earning a berth in next month's NCAA Championship Tournament, conclude the regular season April 22 in Pacific Grove as part of the 18-hole Battle of the Bay at Pacific Grove Golf Links.
