Chico State junior hurdler Dotun Olubeko has yet to have the opportunity to run on a dry track this season. But that hasn't stopped the transfer from Fresno City College from making a splash.

Olubeko, our Wildcat of the Week, posted the fastest 110-meter hurdle time in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) this season and the fifth fastest in the nation at Saturday's wet and wonderful Wildcat Invitational.

Olubeko won his heat in 14.89 and then won the final, stopping the clock in 14.72 seconds.

That fifth-place time nationally is one of the reasons the Wildcats are currently ranked No. 4 in the 2016 debut edition NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Computer Ratings.

Olubeko had three victories in all Saturday, finishing first in his heat in the 200 meters before coming in 11th overall.

Olubeko and the Wildcats awill be back in action this Saturday, traveling to the state capital to compete in the Sacramento State-hosted Hornet Invitational.

The forecast is calling for sunny skies and more fast times.
