Corey Silverstrom has rocked his role as Chico State men's basketball's sixth man and instant offense off the bench this season. His game-high 18 points in Thursday's win against Cal State L.A. is an excellent example. But there's more to the sophomore guard's game, as evidenced by his contributions in Saturday's win at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The Widcat of the Week's shots weren't falling so he became a distributor, dishing out a career-high five assists to go along with a career-best two blocks and six rebounds.
In 46 minutes over the weekend (just over a full game), Silverstrom stacked up 21 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and a steal.
In Thursday's 73-55 victory, Silverstrom shot 6-of-10, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and added four rebounds and an assist in 24 minutes of action.
He was just 1-for-5 from the field in Saturday's 78-64 win, but is still shooting 50 percent from 3-point range. He's also averaging 3.7 rebounds and 2 assists per outing.

The sophomore from Fresno (Bullard HS) is averaging 13.4 points per game - second on the team - and 23.4 points per 40 minutes, which is good for eighth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. He ranks second in the CCAA in 3-point shooting percentage and seventh in made threes per game.
Silverstrom and the Wildcats, in a four-way tie for first atop the CCAA, hit the road to take on Humboldt State and Cal Poly Pomona this weekend.
