Bianca Armanini has been in the Chico State women’s golf program for three years, but for a variety of reasons had played in only four tournaments leading up to this season. The 2014-15 campaign has been a completely different story – the junior from Wailuku, Hawaii appeared in all 10 tournaments the ’Cats competed in, saving her finest performance for last with a career-best second place finish April 20 at the InterWest Wildcat Invitational. Her outstanding play in the final tournament of the season has earned Armanini Wildcat of the Week honors.

Armanini put together two solid rounds at Butte Creek Country Club to post her highest tournament finish ever as a Wildcat. After carding a solid 3-over par 75 on the opening 18 holes, Armanini did even better in the Wildcat Invitational’s final round, firing a 2-over 74 – one stroke off her career best – to finish the tournament at 5-over 149, just one shot back of tournament winner Sarah Rotter of Sonoma State.

Armanini concluded the 2014-15 season with four top 20 tournament finishes and an average of 79.5 strokes per round, including a career-best 73 at the Oct. 20-21 Sonoma State Regional Preview.
