Chico State Athletics

The Chico State men's soccer team has started the season on a roll, unbeaten on the season through four matches. One of the main reasons is the rock in the middle of its defense – Wildcat of the Week Michael Janjigian.
 
Janjigian and the Wildcats notched a pair of shutout victories over the weekend, blanking Academy of Art 2-0 and Saint Martin's 1-0.
 
Janjigian missed all of last season with an injury but the Wildcats' rock does not appear to have gathered any moss. The senior defender played every minute of each match and helped the Wildcats limit the opposition to just 13 shots, only four of which were on goal.
 
Chico State, ranked 5^th in the nation entering this week's matches against BYU-Hawaii and Holy Names at the Lumberjack Classic in Arcata, has logged three shutouts in four matches and allowed only one goal this season.
