Sean Park introduced himself as the newest member of Chico State men's basketball's 1,000-point club in impressive fashion Friday night, scoring a career-high 31 points to lead the Wildcats to an 83-75 win against Cal State East Bay.
Park, just the 13th Wildcat in the program's 99 years of existence to reach that milestone, joins former teammates Damario Sims and Roderick Hawkins on that short list.
Park, who also grabbed a career-high four steals in the win, was efficient shooting the ball from all parts of the floor. He hit 3-of-4 three-pointers, shot 7-of-11 overall, and made 14-of-16 free throws on his way to Wildcat of the Week honors.
The senior from Goleta is making the most of his final collegiate campaign, posting career bests in nearly every statistical category. He's shooting better than 50 percent from the field, 41-percent from 3-point range and 79 percent from the free throw line while averaging career highs of 15.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
Park will lead the 11-3 Wildcats back into action Thursday night at Cal Poly Pomona. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
