Jordan Barton is back. The sophomore center took a while to get back into the flow after missing the first half of the season. But Saturday night he made it official: the Jordan Barton Chico State men's basketball fans grew to know and love last season is back.

Barton bullied Cal State East Bay in the paint and nearly notched a double-double in just 17 minutes of action Saturday night to earn Wildcat of the Week honors. He finished with a season-high 10 points, a career-high nine rebounds, and a steal in the Wildcats’ 68-43 win.

The Bishop O’Dowd product came off the bench to score the first three points of an 18-4 run that gave Chico State a 29-12 lead and command of the game. Barton helped the Wildcats salt the game away early in the second half, scoring four points during a 13-0 run that stretched Chico State’s lead to 51-26.

Barton played in all 33 games as a freshman super-sub last season and averaged 4.8 points on 55-percent shooting and grabbed 2.8 rebounds per game.

Chico State kicks off the second half of its conference schedule this week, hitting the road for games against Humboldt State Thursday and Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday.
