Chico State Athletics

For four seasons, Brandy Tummings has labored in and around the sand pits for Chico State, consistently working and constantly improving her long jump and triple jump techniques. The years of hard work paid off handsomely Saturday for the senior from San Francisco, as Tummings won the Chico Twilight Invitational’s triple jump and notched a personal best that will stand among the top 10 efforts in the event in Chico State history. Her fine performance has earned Tummings the Wildcat of the Week award.

Tummings took top honors in the Twilight Invitational’s triple jump with a leap of 37-feet-06.50, topping her previous best by 10 inches. It was also the eighth longest score by any Wildcat women’s triple jumper in the program’s history. Tummings has now logged leaps of least 35 feet in the triple jump in the last four meets she has competed in this season.
