Beau Rogers clocked the fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time in the nation by a Division II athlete this year and earned an NCAA Automatic Qualifying time with his 8:56.78 effort at the Stanford Invitational Friday. Rogers, who finished 13th as the only Division II athlete in his heat, has been named a Wildcat of the Week.

The senior from Watsonville trimmed six seconds off his PR and moved into second on Chico State’s all-time fastest list. Rogers finished fifth in the nation in the steeplechase at last year's National Championships and also has a Cross Country All-America honor on his resume.
