CHICO, Calif. – Four Wildcats earned recognition on the 2026 All-CCAA Softball Team, marking the program's highest number of honorees since 2021.
Brianna Swihart, Amelie Valdez, Kennedy Gustin and Bella Tavares each earned all-conference recognition following strong performances throughout the season.
Swihart earned her first All-CCAA selection, landing on the Second Team after leading the Wildcats offensively and anchoring the lineup behind the plate. The senior from Martinez batted .336 in 37 games, recording 39 hits and driving in 22 runs. She posted a team-best 12 doubles and added two home runs, highlighting a career year at the plate.
Swihart finished the season ranked among the top hitters in the CCAA and capped her Chico State career with personal bests across multiple offensive categories.
Valdez received her second career All-CCAA honor, also earning Second Team recognition after another standout season in the circle. The Atwater native recorded 11 wins in 20 starts, posting a 2.49 ERA. She tallied 15 complete games, three shutouts and one save, while striking out 105 batters—ranking among the top pitchers in the conference.
Two of Valdez's shutouts came against nationally ranked opponents, including No. 1 Cal State San Marcos and No. 12 Cal State East Bay.
Senior Kennedy Gustin and junior Bella Tavares each received Honorable Mention recognition from the conference's coaches.
Gustin started all 44 games for the Wildcats, recording 36 hits, 22 runs and six RBIs as the team's leadoff hitter. She finished her senior season with a .288 batting average.
Tavares posted a 3.08 ERA across 24 appearances, earning six wins. She recorded three shutouts and 76 strikeouts over 118 innings pitched, ranking fifth in the CCAA in strikeouts and 10th in ERA.
