Dominguez Hills Uses Big Innings to Sweep Twinbill with Wildcats

CHICO, Calif. – The Chico State baseball team couldn't continue the momentum it had in Friday's conference opener. Instead, Cal State Dominguez Hills returned the favor and took two from the Wildcats, 6-3 in the opener and 14-3 in the nightcap, at Nettleton Stadium Saturday.

Chico State falls to 12–9 overall and 1–2 in the CCAA. Cal State Dominguez Hills, meanwhile, goes to 10–6 overall and 2–1 in the CCAA.

Wildcat Standouts
Jackson Snitko – Combined for four hits on the day, including a 3-for-5 performance with a double and RBI in game one.
Brady Ranallo – Went 3-for-4 with a double in the opener and added an RBI walk in game two.
Jared Cantu – Delivered an RBI single in game two and threw out three would-be base stealers.

Game 1 Highlights
– Dominguez Hills struck first on a solo home run by Angel Cortez in the second inning.
– Stefan Foley answered with a sacrifice fly in the bottom half to tie the game.
– Jackson Snitko gave the Wildcats a 2–1 lead in the third with an RBI ground-rule double.
– Chico State added another run in the fourth on a double-play ball that allowed Brady Ranallo to score.
– A two-run home run by Deegan Grgas tied the game in the fifth.
– The Toros pushed across three runs in the seventh to secure the opener.

Game 2 Highlights
– Dominguez Hills erupted for six runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from Tristan Usher.
– The Wildcats responded with two runs in the bottom of the first on an RBI walk and a wild pitch.
– The Toros added three runs in the second and two in the third to build a commanding lead.
– Jared Cantu singled home a run in the third for Chico State.
– Dominguez Hills tacked on three more runs in the fifth to close out the sweep.

By the Numbers
– Dominguez Hills scored 20 runs on 24 hits across the doubleheader.
– Chico State left 22 runners on base in the two games combined.
– The Toros drew 11 walks in game two.
– Snitko recorded four hits on the day.

Wildcat Tidbits
– Despite the losses, Chico State still leads the all-time series with Cal State Dominguez Hills, 72–41–1.
