POMONA, Calif. – Chico State hit the road for the first time since January 30 after playing 21 straight games at Nettleton Stadium, but the Wildcats dropped the opener of a four-game CCAA series Friday night with a 6–1 loss to Cal Poly Pomona at Scolinos Field.
Chico State moves to 13–10 overall and 2–3 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona improves to 13–6 overall and 5–0 in conference play.
Wildcat Standouts
Cole Nachreiner – Went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the fourth inning.
Jesse Gadd – Finished 2-for-3 at the plate.
Jack Tews – Allowed three runs across 4.1 innings while striking out one in the start.

– Chico State struck first in the fourth inning when Stefan Foley and Jesse Gadd opened the frame with back-to-back singles before Cole Nachreiner delivered an RBI single to give the Wildcats a 1–0 lead.
