CHICO, Calif. – The Chico State women's basketball team got 20 points from Madison Parry on Senior Day and 12 from Sydney Peterson, but a disruptive Cal State Monterey Bay defense proved to be the difference as the Wildcats fell 72–64 in the regular-season finale at Acker Gym Saturday afternoon.
Chico State finishes the regular season 19-9 overall and 15-7 in the CCAA, officially locking up fourth place in the conference standings. The Otters, meanwhile, move to 15-13 overall and 12-11 in conference play while locking up the final spot to the CCAA Tournament.
The Wildcats will face No. 5 Cal State Dominguez Hills in the quarterfinal round of the CCAA Tournament. The game will take place Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Cal Poly Pomona's Kellogg Arena. The winner will meet top-seed and CCAA champions Cal Poly Pomona in the semifinal round Friday.
