Offense Surges, Pitching Finishes as Taylor Reaches 600 Wins

CHICO, Calif. – Chico State opened its three-game non-conference series against Highway 99 rival Stanislaus State with a 10–8 victory Friday afternoon at Nettleton Stadium, marking head coach Dave Taylor's 600th career win in his 20th season at the helm.

The Wildcats improve to 10–6 on the season and have won nine of their last 10 games.

Wildcat Standouts
Jesse Gadd – Went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, delivering a two-run single in the six-run third inning and adding an RBI double in the fourth.
Ryan Melton – Finished 1-for-2 with three RBIs, including a two-run single during the Wildcats' decisive third inning.
Brady Ranallo – Drove in three runs on a two-run double and a sacrifice fly.

Game Highlights
– Stanislaus State jumped out to a 2–0 lead in the first inning.
– Chico State answered with one run in the second before erupting for six runs in the third inning to take a 7–2 lead.
– The Wildcats added three more runs in the fourth to extend the advantage to 10–4.
– Stanislaus State tallied three runs in the seventh and one in the ninth, but Chico State held on to secure the opener.
– Aaron McCurley earned the win in relief, while Nathan Hikes worked the final 2.2 innings to close it out.
