Lincoln, Calif. – Chico State dropped its season opener on Friday afternoon, falling 9–1 to Jessup at McBean Park as the Warriors used early power and a decisive seventh inning to pull away.
The Wildcats opened the year at 0–1, while Jessup improved to 1–0 in nonconference play.

Myles Walton – 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the fourth inning, driving in Chico State's lone run.
