Wildcats Wrap Up Day One at the Grisham Memorial Shootout

DUPONT, WASH. – The Chico State men's golf team opened play Friday at the 2025 Grisham Memorial Shootout with 36 holes at The Home Course, posting a 295 (+7) in the morning before following with an even-par 288 in the afternoon to finish the day in eighth place in the 54-hole event.

Senior Naoki Easterday paced the Wildcats, starting the day with a 1-under 71. After a double bogey on his opening hole, Easterday steadied himself and played the next 17 holes at 3-under par to finish strong. He added a 74 (+2) in the afternoon and sits tied for 20th.

Freshman Vineet Vallamsetty posted a 74 (+2) in the morning that featured a 1-under 35 on the back nine. He followed it up with an even-par 72 in the second round and is tied for 31st.

Sophomore Ethan Allred carded rounds of 74–73 and is tied for 36th, while senior Ben Mouser, who bounced back from a 76 in the morning with an even-par 72 in the afternoon. Mouser's second round was highlighted by a 2-under 34 on the back nine, and he sits at tied 38th.

Junior Cooper Hambrick turned things around in the afternoon, improving on his opening 78 with a 1-under 71 in the second round to move into a tie for 45th.

The Wildcats return to The Home Course Saturday morning for the final 18 holes of the Grisham Memorial Shootout.
