Wildcats Swept by Stanislaus State to Open Road Trip

TURLOCK, Calif. – The Chico State volleyball team opened a four-match road swing Friday evening, but ran into a streaking Stanislaus State squad that remained unbeaten in conference play as the Warriors swept the Wildcats 3–0 (25–16, 25–19, 25–13) at Fitzpatrick Arena.

Chico State dropped to 4–7 overall and 0–4 in the CCAA, while Stanislaus State improved to 6–5 and 4–0 in conference play.

Match Summary
Set 1: The Wildcats hung within two early, but a mid-set surge fueled by three Warrior blocks gave Stanislaus the upper hand. Chico hit just .044 in a 25–16 loss.
Set 2: Chico bounced back to hit .087 with 12 kills, taking a brief 18–17 lead before surrendering the final eight points of the set as Stanislaus closed strong, 25–19.
Set 3: The Warriors opened on a 10–5 run and never looked back, hitting a match-best .467 to finish the sweep, 25–13.
