Golden Eagles Ground Wildcats in Acker

Chico, Calif. – The Chico State volleyball team showed flashes of rhythm Saturday evening at Acker Gym, but couldn't maintain it long enough to upset visiting Cal State LA. The Golden Eagles hit .343 as a team and swept the Wildcats 3–0 (25–17, 25–16, 25–19) to complete the opening weekend in CCAA play.

Chico State dropped to 4–6 overall and 0–2 in the CCAA. Cal State LA improved to 6–3 and 2–0 with the win.

Match Summary
Set 1: Chico State hung tough early, matching Cal State LA point for point through the first 10 rallies. But a 6–1 Golden Eagle run midway through the set proved pivotal, and Chico hit just .000 in a 25–17 loss.
Set 2: The Wildcats improved to a .100 hitting percentage but couldn't overcome 7 attack errors, as LA used four aces and 4 blocks to pull away late, 25–16.
Set 3: Chico's most efficient set (.212 hitting) featured a brief late push, but the Golden Eagles finished strong behind Ayjah Landers and Samarah DaCoud to close out the sweep, 25–19.
