CHICO, Calif. – Makenzi Laporte scored a career-high 26 points, fellow senior Meadow Aragon had 18 as the Chico State women's basketball team got off to a high-scoring start in the first quarter and ended with a 97-61 domination over Stanislaus State in Acker Gym Thursday evening.
All Wildcats who dressed for game each put points on the board. Thirty-six of the points scored were from the bench, with Kaila Woo reaching a career-high 12 points and Ashleigh Barr scoring 10.
The Wildcats improve to 16-5 overall and 11-4 in the CCAA while the struggling Warriors fall to 5-16 overall and 4-11 in conference play.
Chico State, which had led the entirety of the game, did all the damage it needed in the first quarter, outscoring Stanislaus State 30-13 in the first 10 minutes. The Wildcats established a 17-7 lead midway through the opening quarter. Laporte went 5-for-6 from the field, including a pair of 3's, for 12 points.
After taking a 50-22 lead at halftime, Chico State stretched that gap to 44 (83-39) early into the fourth quarter.
In a game that saw a lot of shooting, Chico State made 54.8 percent (40-of-73) of its shots with 11 of them coming from 3-point range. Stanislaus State averaged 32.9 percent (23-of-70) but did receive more free throw opportunities than Chico State, with the Warriors going 12-for-16 on the line. Da'Myiah Lewis had 11 of those free throws made to cap a monstrous 31-point, 13 rebound performance.
The Wildcats wrap up the brief homestand Saturday with Cal State Monterey Bay. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. The Otters come to Chico having lost 59-51 to Cal Poly Humboldt tonight.

• Since 1976, Chico State now leads the all-time series with Stanislaus State, 64-34, with the Wildcats having won six straight meetings and seven of the last eight.
• Head coach Brian Fogel, in his 17
th season at the helm, is 265-178 in his career. He is currently chasing Fran Coslet's program record 286 wins.
• Now that she joined the elite clubs of 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in her career, Makenzi Laporte working her way into the record books. At the end of today's game, Laporte now has 1,090 points and is now chasing Jazmine Miller (2010-14), who had 1,231 points in her career at Chico State. In the rebounding column, Laporte has 543 and has now passed her former teammate Haley Ison (2018-23), who had 540 during her time in a Wildcat uniform. Laporte will now go after Sharon Galligan, who ranks ninth all-time with 573 rebounds.
• The largest margin of victory tonight (36) is the second best this season. Only the game against Cal State East Bay back in November was the most, which was 51 points.
