CHICO, Calif. - The Wildcats claimed another win at home this week with a 77-46 takedown of the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters.
Saturday's win extends the Wildcats to a 12-4 record in conference play and their 17th win overall. With six more games left in the regular season, the Wildcats are positioned to claim a berth into the 2025 CCAA Tournament, sitting in a top 3 position. Having a five-game lead over seventh place San Francisco State with six left on the schedule, the Wildcats can lock up a berth to the postseason with a win at the Gators on Thursday. Tip time is at 5:30 p.m.
Jordan Allred was an offensive standout with 24 points in Saturday's win while notching six assists and seven rebounds. Makenzi Laporte added 14 points herself, with nine rebounds, seven on the offensive side.
The 'Cats had a troubled time with shooting in the second period, only scoring a single field goal but adding nine free throws. They bounced back after the break, shooting 62 percent in the third quarter and 42 percent in the closing ten minutes.
At the end of the evening, the Wildcats finished with 84 percent shooting from the free-throw line after sinking 21 of their 25 attempts. Efficiently, the Wildcats were able to keep the Otters off the free-throw line, allowing only five total foul shots throughout the entire game.
Chico State was efficient on their transition offense, converting turnovers into 34 points, forcing the Otters to twenty-four turnovers.
