HAYWARD, Calif. – Hannah Pieri scored her third straight goal of the season as Chico State played to a 1–1 draw with Cal State East Bay on Sunday afternoon at Chabot College Soccer Field.
The Wildcats move to 9-5-3 overall (7-2-1 CCAA), while the Pioneers stand at 6-8-3 (4-4-2 CCAA). Despite the draw in Hayward, the Wildcats have secured a bye into the CCAA Tournament semifinal after second-place Cal Poly Pomona tied its home match with fourth-place Cal State LA earlier. It'll be the first time since 2022 that the Wildcats will play in the semifinal round of the conference tournament.
The CCAA Tournament semifinal round will be held November 14 at Cardinale Stadium on the campus of Cal State Monterey Bay. Although no seed has been assigned yet, Chico State can clinch the CCAA championship outright as well as the top spot in the tournament with a win at home against Cal Poly Humboldt or a Cal Poly Pomona tie against Cal State San Bernardino. Both matches start at 2 p.m.
