How it happened
Chico State opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Gabby Starr buried a penalty kick for her second converted penalty this season.
Humboldt answered with three straight tallies—Heidie Munoz in the 19th, Sari Murphy in the 32nd, and Morgan Young early in the second half—to go up 3–1.
Refusing to quit, the Wildcats mounted a comeback led by Olivia Hohnstein, who scored twice in a 12-minute span (57th and 69th) to pull Chico even, tallying her third and fourth goals of the season in quick succession. Both goals leaving the Lumberjacks keeper watching as her shots floated over her head into the back of the net.
