'Cats Wrap Up Fall Segment at Otter Invitational

| By:

SEASIDE, CALIF. – The Chico State men's golf team wrapped up its fall segment Tuesday at the Otter Invitational, hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at Bayonet and Blackhorse Golf Course. The Wildcats finished ninth in the 16-team field with a three-round total of 904 (+40), posting scores of 288 (E), 316 (+32), and 296 (+8).

After a challenging second round on Monday afternoon that featured heavy rain and strong winds, the Wildcats bounced back with a steady performance on Tuesday to close out the tournament. Head coach Nick Green said, "I felt we ended today pretty well. We had a very tough round yesterday afternoon, so to see us have a bit of a bounce back today was a positive."

Senior Naoki Easterday led the Wildcats once again, posting rounds of 71–79–71 to finish at 7-over par and tied for 12th. Reflecting on his round, Easterday noted that "the course played a little softer today compared to yesterday, so I was able to go at some pins." He also added that he "did a good job of making pars when I was out of position and limiting the double bogeys."

Senior Giuseppe Aliotti finished tied for 30th at 10-over par after rounds of 70–80–76. Senior Ben Mouser shot rounds of 72–83–73 to finish tied for 37th, while junior Alex LemMon posted scores of 75–78–80 to tie for 60th. Sophomore Ethan Allred recorded rounds of 75–88–76 to place 79th.

Junior Cooper Hambrick, competing as an individual, turned in rounds of 80–75–75 to finish tied for 50th.

Western Washington captured the team title at 9-over par, while the individual co-medalists were Conrad Brown of Western Washington and Marius Dosiere of Colorado State–Pueblo, each finishing at 2-under.

Looking ahead to the spring, Coach Green shared his perspective on the team's goals moving forward: "Our plan is to work on getting better at the simple things — our routine, short game, and overall preparation. We'll enjoy some time off and come back ready to compete in the spring."
