As the annual showcase of some of the best track & field athletes across the west traveled to Azusa Pacific for the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Wildcats were in attendance while spreading their strength to two other meets across California.
Competing in three separate meets can be a difficult feat to accomplish, but the 'Cats were able to get it done and produced some outstanding marks and performances. A weekend highlight was Marissa D'Atri breaking the Chico State record in the steeplechase, an event D'Atri has always dominated.
Her time of 10:08.68Â cements her name into the history books against a field of some of the best division I and II steeplechase athletes. The senior now holds records in both the 5K and steeplechase events at Chico State.
