The 2022 season may be officially in the books for the Chico State men's soccer team, but various honors and awards continue to be handed out, and two Wildcat players have reaped the benefits of excelling on both the pitch and the classroom. Sophomore midfielders Kristoffer Brown and Benjamin Ralph were recognized Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators (CSC; formerly CoSIDA) by being the 'Cats' representatives named to the organization's 2022 Academic All-District Team.
 
The CSC Academic All-District Team spotlights the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions—NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA—for each gender.
 
The CSC Academic All-District Award is the first for both Wildcat players. Brown adds this latest honor to his two California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic awards and the 2021–22 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. Ralph received 2021–22 CCAA All-Academic honors and the 2021–22 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award prior to earning CSC Academic All-District recognition.
 
Brown and Ralph now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with First-, Second-, and Third-Team honorees announced in early December.
