True freshman Chloe King contributed a goal and assist in the Chico State women's soccer team's 2-0 win against visiting Cal State San Bernardino Sunday at University Soccer Stadium.

King gave Chico State the lead for keeps just 1:54 into the match, driving a shot into the lower left corner from the top of the 18-yard box. Susanna Garcia's pass from out on the left flank set King up in prime scoring position.

The Wildcats took 16 more shots—seven of which were saved and one that hit the post—before finally breaking through again and putting the match away in the 74
th minute. King touched the ball to Jordan Doukakis on a free kick from about 25 yards out and in the vicinity of the top-left corner of the box. Doukakis did the rest, blasting a shot inside the near post for her first goal of the season and a 2-0 lead.

King now has three goals and an assist. She's tied with Garcia for the team lead with seven points and became the 10
th Wildcat to record an assist so far this season.

Doukakis actually leads the team with three assists and she became the ninth Wildcat to find the back of the net this season.

Wildcats goalkeeper Victoria Graham was only forced to make one save, but it was a beauty. She turned away a shot from about 12 yards out after a Cal State San Bernardino striker got behind the defense, protecting the 1-0 lead and preserving her third shutout of the season.

Chico State finished with a 20-10 advantage in shots and 12-4 edge in corner kicks.

The Wildcats are now 8-3-1 overall and 4-2-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Cal State San Bernardino slipped to 2-8-1 and 0-5-0.

The Wildcats will hit the road for their next three matches—Oct. 18 at UC San Diego, Oct. 20 at Cal State San Marcos, and Oct. 30 at Stanislaus State—before returning home to play their final three, beginning with a Nov. 2 showdown against rival Sonoma State.
